The term FOODSAFE is collectively used throughout British Columbia, for all food safety training courses mandated by the BC Health Authorities and the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development. At Nanaimo First Aid, we offer trainees two FOODSAFE levels and refresher classes for all your needs in food safety and certification.

What is FOODSAFE certification?

When students take FOODSAFE training and pass all the examinations (practical and written), we award them with FOODSAFE certification. The certificate is only valid for five years and expires after that period. However, food service workers can receive updated training and get a new certificate through refresher courses (3 hours long). There is an exam given at the end of refresher classes, wherein the student has to get 80 percent or higher to be awarded with a new certificate.
